The majority of youth transitioning out of children’s homes don’t have a network or family to receive them when starting their independent life out in society, which means that we as an organization and their former children’s home often are the only lifeline that they have when celebrating successes or are in need of help.
In cooperation with UJBH (the Honduran Baptist Youth) and Street Kids Direct, we are working on getting each of our youth mentors that can support them for at least a year. Street Kids Direct has provided mentorship material, and UJBH has, through their Timoteos project, been training young UJBH volunteers to become good mentors and help these youth from the children’s homes get involved in a church network.
