On the 9th of January, we welcomed the 3rd generation of youth as they moved in to their new homes. Of the 14 in this class, 4 are from new children’s homes and organizations. We are so excited about following them in their next steps in life.
In the first three months, the youth have gotten to know each other, have familiarized themselves with their new home, and started their training, job search, and studying.
8 out of our 14 youth already have jobs, 11 are already enrolled at the university or INFOP, and the other three are taking their admissions test before the end of March.
Planning the next generations
During the first week of March, we had informational meetings for orphanage directors and youth to come and hear about our program. From now until April 20, we are open to receive applications from interested youth for entry into the program in August 2018 or January 2019.
As soon as we have all applications reviewed, we will start the first phase of our interview process where we go to each children’s home to get to know each youth better in the place they feel most comfortable.
Additionally, we are working on establishing a network of churches that will commit to partner with youth aging out of children’s homes and become mentors and people of change for these youth in need of a solid relationship in their transition.
Please pray for us in this process. The need for mentorship and guides is so big! We know that with the help of God we will be able to reach out too many more youth than we have ever dreamed of.
There are so many ways that you can help these youth get a good start out in society.
We are grateful for your continued prayers for them and our program. If you feel called to help further, your financial assistance (at any level) would help us assure that our youth have the support they need to succeed.
